I hope that the ACM fire doesn’t go out when I leave. I have seen so much change and only want to see [the] CS [department] get better and better.I will be back from my co-op and only hope I can see ACM much bigger when I return. I will still try to be associating with ACM when I can, I will be on the forums and hope to see you all there.

Click to toggle InfoI built this site on my own in my own free time for the good of ACM. My personal goal concerning what I wanted to do in this organization has already been “achieved”. I accomplished what I initially set out to accomplish, build a website where members of ACM can gather and mingle and over time help push the CS department at Tech to greater heights.
A good website is one of the greatest canvasses to place your ideas on to show the world. Those who come after me, those who will continue what I have spent so long working on, what will you bring to this canvas? What will you create? -Louis Alridge

ACM’s true revival occurred this semester, the officers planned these events.. Fall BBQ, Spring BBQ, Engineering week booth. LAN Parties, External Advisory Board Q&A, Annual Banquet, Refurbished Computers to Donate.. Much was accomplished and ACM slowly began to become what it is today.

Click to toggle InfoBeing Chairman of ACM provided me my first real experience leading a group of people. I learned a lot about event planning and project management. I also made connections with members of the department and industry that created many opportunities for me. I am glad I got to take part in defining what ACM was and would become. It is still a young program at Texas Tech, but it has the opportunity to grow with ambitious officers leading the way.
